Hello,
Thank you for visiting my About Me page.
Well, as a child I loved going camping at the lake with my folks, grandparents and friends. It was always a big event, a family event. I remember helping my grandfather packing the boat with all the gear needed for the trip. Such as gas for the boat, life jackets, towels, and skis (really big wooden skis). I think the packing for the trip was just as fun as the trip it self. I aways wanted to carry the food basket, but at my young age and how my grandmother like to pack, it was always to heavy for me to carry. Once we finally got everything in the boat and the truck and the car (it looked like we were moving), we were on our way to the lake to find that perfect spot which was the same spot every year. The quickest way to our spot was with the boat, so we launched the boat and made a few trips across the lake the my dad and grandfather would take the truck with the camper on it for the hour plus drive around the lake and down these very narrow dirt roads to get to the camp site. Once there the gals (Mom and grandma) had most things set up except the tents. Getting ready to go to the lake, unloading and setting everything up was definitely an all day event.
However, once everything was set up it was time to start relaxing, skiing, fishing and most of all eating. I don’t know what it was about camping, but everything tastes better around an open flame. Even the peanut butter and jelly sandwich (PB&J) tasted better. There was always something about camping which make other events in your life disappear. So even if you are a big family or a small family or not so close to your family camping is something that everyone can do to bond better and get away from the everyday hectic life surrounding us. Camping is something that really doesn’t take a great deal of money. You just need a tent, sleeping bag, cooler with food (No Fast Food Here) and the desire to have fun.
Go Camping and Have a Great Time, See ya when ya get home.
